Which one is the smallest Porta Potti?

The Porta Potti 335 is the smallest portable toilet in our range. 

What's the difference between a bellow and a piston pump?

The difference is that the bellow pump is a simple pump that has to be pushed in order to rinse. The piston pump is a more luxurious pump that is easy to operate by pulling it up.

Which Porta Potti fits the best in my Van?

This depends on the situation in your Van. For all dimensions, please check the specifications of our portable toilets. 

Where can I buy a spare holding tank for my Porta Potti?

Sorry, the tank is not available separately. So you can’t buy a spare holding tank for your Porta Potti.

Can I use Aqua Kem Blue in my Porta Potti?

Yes this is possible, the correct quantities can be found on the Aqua Kem Blue label. 

What is the maximum loading in kg for a Porta Potti?

All Porta Potti’s are fully functional with a load of 120 kg during normal use.

What are the maximum and minimum temperatures a Porta Potti will operate?

All Porta Potti models can stand the following temperatures:

• +1°C to +60°C (operational)
• -40°C to +60°C (storage).

How does the level indication of the Porta Potti work?

The indication works with a float equipped with a magnet. When it rises, it comes to the sensor and indicates that your tank is full.

How do Thetford toilet additives compare to regular household cleaning products used at home when looking at their environmental impact?

A mobile toilet in your RV is not like a regular toilet at home. A mobile toilet additive has functionalities that are not required in your toilet at home. Our products are technologically advanced, applying the latest developments in tailor-made ingredients for mobile toilet applications, and are specifically intended for effective treatment of toilet waste in a small, confined space. So, never use a cleaning product for a purpose for which it was not designed.

In conclusion, compared to regular household cleaning products, Thetford toilet additives are a more environmentally friendly option for the treatment of waste and prevention of odour and other problems in a mobile toilet system.

How can I prevent the smell of my toilet? How do I use a mobile toilet properly?

First, and most important of all: use a Thetford waste-holding tank additive and use it according to the instructions.
Thetford’s waste-holding tank additives are highly effective toilet additives that offer the best performance for your Cassette and portable toilet. 
1. Outstanding odour control
2. Waste is liquified for easier tank emptying 
3. Reduces gas build-up 

Empty your waste-holding tank every 4-5 days (depending on the waste-holding tank additive you use).

Next to this we recommend using Thetford Cassette Tank Cleaner 2 to 3 times a year on the waste-holding tank to thoroughly clean the inside of the tank and remove stubborn limescale.
 

What can I do when the flush tube of my Porta Potti is broken?

It’s only possible to replace the complete toilet in case of a broken flush tube.

What special maintenance do you advise for the Porta Potti toilets?

To prolong the life span of a portable toilet we advise to maintain a Porta Potti toilet regularly. Use Cassette Tank Cleaner for the waste-holding tank 2-3 times a year. Cassette Tank Cleaner safely removess stubborn calcium deposits on the inside of a waste-holding tank and Seal Lubricant keeps the seals soft.
