Ryan is the Global Chief Legal Officer for Thetford, bringing over 25 years of experience as a legal leader in complex international manufacturing operations within highly regulated industries. His extensive career has equipped him with a deep understanding of legal, compliance, and ethical matters, making him a trusted advisor to the board of directors on corporate governance issues.

Ryan’s connection to the RV industry is both personal and profound. Growing up in a family that has built and operated RV parks—from his grandfather to his father—Ryan has always felt a strong tie to this vibrant sector. When the opportunity arose to combine his legal expertise with his lifelong passion for the RV industry, he eagerly pursued the role at Thetford.

Despite having logged over a million miles in the air as part of his career, Ryan admits he has a fear of flying—a testament to his resilience and determination. In his current position, he is responsible for all legal and compliance matters globally for Thetford, ensuring that the organization adheres to regulatory requirements while navigating the complexities of international operations.

What excites Ryan most about his role at Thetford is the opportunity to work with an international team of experienced professionals who are not only dedicated to the company’s culture but also passionate about the RV industry. He thrives on leveraging his industry knowledge to tackle cross-cultural legal and compliance issues, finding innovative solutions that benefit the company and its stakeholders.

Ryan’s leadership philosophy centers around mentorship and development. He is dedicated to advancing the careers of others, enjoying the time spent mentoring and helping his colleagues enhance their skills.

Outside of work, Ryan is a true gearhead with a love for anything that has an engine—whether it’s a weed whacker or an F1 race car, he finds joy in all things mechanical. Fun fact: during third grade, Ryan and his family moved to Arizona, where he lived in a bumper-pull RV and was driven to school every day on a Goldwing motorcycle!
